Phil goes Bang! Pow! Zoom! in September

Hi everybody! You won’t believe it, but I’ve got 3 gigs in a 5-day span!

If I keep this up, I’m in danger of becoming a musician. Here we go…a house concert and two storytelling shows:

SATURDAY SEP 21 – Phil Ward opens for the Dave Morrison Band in what’s billed as a Backyard Invasion

I’m in the (apparently really neat) Carbon Canyon area of Chino Hills, being the 40-minute opening act for a house concert starring Dave Morrison and band.  Dave is a fellow artist on the Trough Records label; many of you know his work. He is so good that even if you arrive late and miss my set entirely, you should still go. Details:

Doors: 4:30
My set: 5:00
Dinner (included!): 6:00
Dave’s set: 7:00
Followed by a song circle; bring your instrument if you like!
16375 Canon Lane, Chino Hills, 91709
$15 suggested donation includes food and drink

SUNDAY SEP 22

I’ll do 2-3 songs as the musical guest in Tell It! Personal true stories told live onstage.  Free admission and refreshments! Beverages by donation! The night’s theme is “Try, try again.” I know all about that.

7:30
Spirit Studio in Silverlake
3711 Evans St, LA, 90027
(Evans and Hyperion, above Barbarella) (The bar, not the Jane Fonda movie)

WEDNESDAY SEP 25

I’m doing a couple of songs as the musical guest in a different storytelling show: The Trunk Show.  The night’s theme is “Duality.” Let’s see if I can make any of my songs fit that theme.  Tickets $10 if bought in advance at www.plays411.net; $15 at the door.

8:00
The Elephant Theatre
6322 Santa Monica Blvd, Hollywood, 90038
(Just west of Vine; plenty of street parking in the neighborhood; enter the theatre on the Lillian Way side of the building)

ANYBODY WHO COMES TO ALL THREE OF THESE GIGS can have, um, a free CD of mine, or something.  Certainly a hug.

If you need more details than you see here, drop me a line.  And for Pete’s sake (and your own), stay out of the heat!
