Well friends, some of you know this already, either because you’ve heard about it or you were there: at my most recent gig, July 18 at the Whittier Center Theater, just as I was about to play my final song…I had a heart attack. No joke. I am now 1000% better, thanks to the love and support of my mate, my family and my magnificent friends (and the heroic EMTs and the excellent staff at the hospital where they took me, PIH Health Whittier). And I’m fixin’ to play my next gig as planned. No farewells for me! I’ll probably talk about the heart attack at the gig, and I’m not shy about it so drop me a line if you want to know more. Otherwise…hope to see you at Chava & Barrett’s Backyard in Altadena on August 16. (I’m appearing with marvelous keyboardist-songwriter Kevin Kelso, and the rockin’ house band the Avant Gardeners.
