Cowboys, Ranches and Music!

Five more chances to visit Phil (in and out of jail) at Knott’s.

Like last year, I’m spending the summer playing the role of Ox Mayfield, patriarch of the outlaw clan in Ghost Town Alive at Knott’s Berry Farm. It’s an immersive, all-day, Old West experience with lots of live actors and activities…think of it as a Westworld that’s family friendly. (Click here for a review with some pics.) Remaining show dates are August 25-26 and September 1-3. You can often get tix for $42 at goldstar.com–and of course, your ticket includes all the thrill rides and Peanuts characters that Knott’s is also known for. Questions? Email me at philwardlive@att.net.

A drama about the drought’s effect on a ranch…performed on a ranch.

I’m an understudy for Circle X’s world premiere production of Hole in the Sky, a somewhat magical story about “how we live with fire, water and family.” The really cool thing is, it’s performed outdoors on an actual ranch in Lake View Terrace, a few miles north of Burbank. With horses in the background and dogs running around and peacocks screaming. No way of telling how many performances I might be called upon to do, but there’s an understudy performance in which I’ll definitely play one of the lead roles, on Thursday September 6 at 8pm. Tickets are $25; click on the graphic above then on the “purchase tickets” link to get your hands on some.

I’ll be getting back to playing funny songs on the guitar in October. Hope to see you soon,or then, or both soon and then.
